Zhou-Lee writes science fiction, fantasy, poetry, non-fiction, and journalism.
Awards, mentorships, and fellowships include: SFWA Nebula Conference 2020 scholarship, the Avengers of Colour program where they became a mentee to Terry J. Benton Walker, and the 2024 PEN American U. S. Writers Aid Initiative Grant. In 2023, they became the first mixed race Black Asian admitted to the Open City Fellowship for Journalism at the Asian American Writers’ Workshop.
